The Hungarian representative of Eurovision 2012 Compact Disco is going to held a live concert at Sziget Festival on Óbudai Island in Budapest today. This year, YouTube and festival organizers gave the chance to follow the events through live stream about one of the largest music and cultural festivals in Europe. Compact Disco will appear on A38 stage on 10.08.2012 at 18:00. On this link (http://www.youtube.com/szigetofficial) you just choose the right stream (A38) to follow the event. Besides, other 2 stage also have live streams in the same time. Between concerts, no stream available.

The second rehearsal of Hungarian hopefuls Compact Disco took place on Friday in Baku’s Crystal Hall. The guys seemed really pleased as they were leaving the stage, where they performed Sound Of Our Hearts four times, and this time with pyro effects.

Compact Disco’s visit to Baku is watched with a huge level of interest. The guys are greatly enjoying local hospitality and trying to accommodate every interview request and accept all invitations. On Wednesday they were guests at the local Jazz Club, where they performed in front of Baku’s Hungarian ambassador and his VIP guests, a cheerful local audience and many members of various delegations of the Eurovision Song Contest.

The Soviet Union could not take part in Eurovision. It was not a member of the European Broadcasting Union, the club of Western broadcasters that organised the show. But that did not mean that behind the Iron Curtain people did not want to wear sequins and sing their hearts out. Of course they did.

 The Hungarian ESC entry “Sound of Our Hearts” already released in more than 13 countries

There is a growing level of interest for Compact Disco’s song “Sound of Our Hearts”. As a result, the song and its remixes have been released in numerous European territories: in Scandinavia (Denmark, Norway, Sweden) and in Baltic states (Estonia, Lithuania) by the Swedish label Family Tree Records, in Austria and Germany by the German label “Mole” which also published Yonderboi’s album, in Italy by the publisher called Toco, furthermore in Russia and Bulgaria. Negotiations are going on with independent labels in the Benelux states, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Romania and Mexico. It is a curiosity that besides Europe the single will be released in South-Africa as well.

Hungary’s Eurovision contestants went to Szombathely to meet their Austrian counterpart Trackshittaz on Thursday, and welcomed the Albanian contestant Rona Nishliu at the Hungarian Television on Friday. The group will jet to the United Kingdom tomorrow where they will give a live performance to Hungarians living in the UK’s capital city at the London Eurovision Party.

Compact Disco’s call for remixes to the Eurovision Song entry Sound of Our Hearts attracted DJs’ attention like never before.
The producers they had asked were immediately committed to remix Sound of our Hearts, resulting in the strongest Compact Disco remix pack ever. Luckily the names of many remixers sound familiar abroad as well, which is a great support for the international promotion of the song.

Hungary is going to start the national selection for Eurovision 2012 tonight. The first semifinal starts on 20:15 CET and can watch all around the world and also all the people in the world can vote! Duna World is aired worldwide, technical details here. Tonight BAYER Friderika will perform her Eurovision entry from 1994 that is the biggest achievement of Hungary in the Contest. 10 semifinalists will compete in the show. A 4-membered jury will send 3 songs, the audience will be the 5th jury member to send one more song to the big final. If you miss the live show, you can watch again on Sunday in channel m2 that is free-to-air satellite channel in Europe and also have internet stream. Links below.

Today twenty brand new songs were revealed which get the chance to represent Hungary at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. After Hungarian Television MTV and MTVA launched an open call for submissions in December 2011, a professional jury consisting of nine members selected the best songs out of the more than 200 submissions. The channels m1 and Duna World will broadcast live the national semi finals on 28 January and 4 February, and the national final on 11 February 2012 where a total of eight songs will compete.

Hungarian public broadcasters support fund MTVA and Hungarian Television MTV is going to hold a common press conference about Hungarian selection for Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Budapest tomorrow at 11 AM. According to the letter of invitation, more than 200 songs were received to the tender that was started in December. The common decision of the viewers and the jury will determine the one who will be sent to the venue of Eurovision 2012 in May. Good news for the international viewers that m1 and the worldwide broadcasted Duna World both will present the 3 parted shows live.

Hungarian Television will seek for the song representing Hungary at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in a series of live shows. MTVA, the Media Service Support and Asset Management Fund which is integrating the Hungarian public service media and Hungarian Television jointly held a press conference confirming their participation at next year’s Eurovision Song Contest and announced that the submission deadline for songs to compete in the national finals will be the 20th December 2011.
