Representing a country is a proud feeling but at the same time it is a big responsibility

Estonia is an active member of the Eurovision since 1994, they debuted along with our country. In 2001 they won the contest, so it moved to Tallinn in 2002. They managed to reach the final 4 times since the 2 semifinal system, although they went to top 10 only two times. This year Elina and Stig will represent the country with their song, Goodbye to yesterday. Enjoy the short interview I made with the duo!

What was your first step in your music career?
We both think that music has been with us and in our lives from the moment we were born 🙂

This year you were selected to represent Estonia at Eurovision. What does it mean for you?
It is a proud feeling but at the same time it is a big responsibility to represent your country.

Both of you tried to represent Estonia before. How did you meet and decided to sing together?
Stig: I actually discovered Elina on Youtube. I wrote her to ask her about co-operating. She agreed and now we are here 🙂

The story of the song is really nice. Do you think a storyline like this can be played on the stage?
Yes, we do. It was played in Estonia and with some alterations we will try to express it in Vienna as well.

If you could pick up only one word which word describes your life best (1-1 word)?
Elina: Exciting.
Stig: Challenging.

Who are your favourite singers?
Elina: Christina Aguilera, Beyonce, Frank Ocean, Marilyn Manson.
Stig: Max Martin, Sia.

This year there are 40 entries in the contest. Do you have your favourites?
Not yet, because we haven’t had the possibility to listen to all of the songs.

What would you like to achieve in the contest?
Our main aim is to give a memorable performance.

What inspires you?
Our everyday life and our closest ones.
